Father's Day Visit from the Coddingtons

Calebs' parents and grandparents came to visit us all the way from Rochester, NY, over Father's Day weekend.

Hannah remembered JuJu and PaPa from books she has been reading. It was fun to see her reconnect with her grandparents that absolutely adore her. She got so much attention and loved every minute of it!

The men all went to a nearby park to fly a kite. I don't think they had much luck, but I am sure they had a lot of fun spending time together.

On Father's Day, we packed a picnic and celebrated together at Kensington Park. Hannah loved canoeing!

June Update

We've been spending a ton of time at the park lately. Hannah absolutely loves the bouncy toys and has no fear of the slides. She climbs right up to the top without any help and races the bigger kids to the bottom. It's hard to peel her away from the equipment when it's time to go home.

We also celebrated Adeline's (Hannah's friend's) second birthday at Ashlyn's (another one of Hannah's friend's) house. The girls loved playing together. Their favorite activities of the morning were books, puzzles, and eating cupcakes.

Toledo Zoo

Hannahs' friends Jameson and Mason Kern invited us to the Toledo Zoo this month. It was so fun to see it through Hannahs' eyes. She loved seeing all of the animals that we have been learning from books (Well, everything except this gorilla statue!). Her favorite was the polar bear which she called "Woof."

Small Group Camping at Sleepy Hollow

On June 4th, we headed out to Sleepy Hollow State Park for a weekend of camping with some of our closest friends.

Hannah loved running around the campground with her friends and playing in a small tent for the kids.

She didn't like the beach so much. It took two days there to get her to even touch the sand. Once she saw her friends playing near the water she caved to the peer pressure. She still resisted putting her feet in the water. Maybe next time!

Mackinac Camping Trip

We headed out last Saturday for our first family vacation. We set up camp at Wilderness State Park, near Mackinac Island. It was beautiful camping so close to the water (until it started raining!). We are camped just to the right of the last visible camper.

Here's our little camper entertaining herself while we got everything ready for the week. I see gymnastics in her future! What a monkey!

Hanging out around the campground.

We picked the perfect day to visit the island. Our first stop was at the butterfly house. We weren't sure if Hannah would enjoy it, but she absolutely loved looking at the butterflies flying around.

We also brought our bikes to the island and rented a trailer to haul Hannah around. We spent some time at Fort Mackinac and then rode the trail around the perimeter of the island. It was a gorgeous trail and Hannah took a little nap for part of the way.

We ate the most amazing pizza at a restaurant in Mackinaw City. Hannah named pictures of her friends and then helped us clean up (she's singing the clean-up song in the video clip).

And what would a car trip be without bribing your kids with sweet treats :)

May Update

Hannah is such a ham lately. She giggles at everything!

She LOVES her puzzles. She'll be ready for interlocking puzzles soon! Hannah also loves playing with her best friend, Ashlyn. She even asks for her first thing every morning and each time we get in the car she thinks we're going to play with Ashlyn.

Hannah's vocabulary is exploding! She comes up with new words each day and it's music to my ears! She can identify all of her immediate family members now which is very special!

I think Hannah knows almost all of her animal names and sounds now. Before bed she asks for "Bwown Brr" (Brown Bear)--her favorite book. Here's her latest talent:

And here's Hannah's favorite song. She knows all of the motions from Barney. She adores that big purple dinosaur!

Uppercase Living

I went to one of those at-home parties hosted by a friend a few weeks ago. Normally, I'm not that in to this kind of thing, but I am absolutely in love with this product! Our bedroom looks like it could be in a magazine now :)
