Big Girl Bed

When I Hannah's room to get her from her afternoon nap on Monday, I found her perched on the top railing of her crib. I knew it was time to convert her crib to a toddler bed. We were going to wait until the weekend, but she only seemed to be getting braver each day. Wednesday night was the big night.

Daddy read Hannah her usual bedtime stories.

And then we tucked her in to her "new" bed with all of her loveys:
1) Barney that sings and lights up,
2) Plush Barney,
3) Sock monkey,
4) Dora,
5) Two burp cloths (one for Hannah and one for Dora),
6) Her beloved pillow,
7) Her new blanket,
8) And last, but not least, Binky!

With a hug, a squeeze, a kiss, and a "Good night, Hannah. I love you. See you in the morning. Bye, bye." she fell sound asleep in her big girl bed.

August Update

Despite Hannah's expression in this picture (she doesn't like the camera right now), she loves playing dress-up! I thought this day would never come because, up until recently, she had shown now interest in "girly" things such as taking care of baby dolls and playing house.

These following pictures are to prove that Hannah DOES actually eat. Granted, these are not the healthiest foods, but they were both special occasions with friends.

Here's Hannah sporting her very first pig-tails! I imagine I could have put her in them months ago because she's been blessed with a full head of hair since birth. She looks so darling to me...and so much older! She's really growing up!

Aaron and Lisa's Wedding

For this car trip, mommy and daddy got smart! We left right after Hannah's nap time on Thursday night. Hannah was PERFECT! We couldn't have asked for a better trip. I'm so glad we took the advice of other mommies and daddies who encouraged us to drive during the evening hours.

Hannah got to spend a lot of time with Great-Grandpa and Grandpa before the wedding festivities began. She looooooves her PaPa! I think JuJu and PaPa were a little stunned to see their granddaughter headed towards the biggest slide in the park. She is one fearless little girl!

The rehearsal dinner was held at a beautiful hotel in Rochester, NY. The food was delicious and it was so much fun to meet Lisa's family for the first time. We had a great time swapping crazy kid stories. Thanks to "Aunt" Katie for babysitting Hannah so we could have a night out without strapping you-know-who down to a high chair and cutting up food into tiny bits.

Hannah and Great-Grandma kept each other entertained indoors (it was H-O-T, HOT!) while we were waiting for the ceremony to begin.

Mommy also got to spend some one-on-one time with Hannah. We had to save up her energy for the dancing!

The beautiful bride and handsome groom! Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Coddington!

And there's MY handsome groom in the middle! Caleb looked so cute in that tux!

The Coddington Family

Hannah tore up the dance floor and stole the show! She had a BLAST! I'd never seen her so giddy with joy. What a fun way to celebrate Aaron and Lisa's marriage.

Hannah was on the dance floor by herself for a few minutes and decided she was feeling lonely. She picked Great-Grandma out of the crowd and pulled her to the dance floor. For those of you who don't know the Greats, they are baptists, which means.....they don't dance! But Great-Grandma couldn't resist those blond curls and showed off her skills she had practiced in secret at friends' houses growing up.

Caleb's poor mother broke her ankle 3 days before the wedding! She was such a wonderful sport about the whole thing and even managed to "shake a leg" for a little bit.

It melted my heart to see Caleb holding Hannah during the Father/Daughter dance. Precious memories!

And the grand finale!!!!!

Splash Park at the Kern's

Melissa invited us over for a playdate last week. Boy did Hannah have fun! At first she wasn't sure what to do about everything, but Mason and Jameson quickly helped her warm up to the idea that splashing is a ton of fun!

Mrs. Melissa always feeds us yummy snacks! Her snacks taste way better than mommys'!

I love this one! The looks on all the kids' faces are priceless! J has his tongue sticking out at his brother, Hannah has a sneaky look, and Mason's like, "I didn't do anything. I'm so sweet." Hannah loves her boy friends. They have trucks and splash parks!

Church Camping

The first weekend in August, we went camping with our church. It was a beautiful campground with a fabulous playground for the kids and small beach as well.

As you can see, our daughter loves the dirt. (Shes' the one on the left that won't put her hand on the ground to assist her in standing up.)

All of the us parents spent the weekend chasing our kids around and tiring them out (or should that be the other way around? LOL).

I think Miss Marsha could tell that mommy needed a break on Friday while daddy was at work. How special for the Pastor's wife to spend some one-on-one time with Hannah. Hannah's really looking forward to being in her Sunday School class in the fall!

Goofin' Around

Below is a video of Hannah singing her ABCs. It's so hard to get her to sit still long enough to sing them for the camera. She does know almost all of them, though! And she even made up her own dance moves this time!

I think Caleb was utterly embarrassed when I made him stop at a garage sale a few weeks ago for this Elmo chair. It was only $2....who could refuse such a deal!! I threw the cover in the wash and it was good as new. Hannah's in love with it!

It takes Hannah a few seconds, but notice she's right on beat with the music :) I love the ending when she shouts, "Hooray".

Happy Birthday, Caleb!!

We celebrated Caleb's 29th birthday this past Saturday with pizza and cake at a nearby park. The weather was beautiful and the kids had a fun time.

Picking flowers with Ashlyn.

Playing frisbee with daddy.

The big kids were "monkeying" around as much as the little ones. :)

And, last but not least, the human totem pole!
