SonRock Kids Camp--VBS 2009

The campfires are gone and the tents are packed away, but we had an incredible week at SonRock Kids Camp. We ate s'more trail mix, played fun games, heard exciting Bible stories, constructed birdhouses, and danced and sang 'til we dropped.

We have many reasons to praise God! He brought 167 campers through our doors during the week and approximately 100 of the children were from outside of Fellowship Church. The children heard the gospel message several times throughout the week and learned of God's great love for them. I pray that this message stays close to their hearts in the coming weeks and that their families and friends will also be impacted by the true meaning of Vacation Bible School.

I can't believe the months and months of planning are already over and that the week has come and gone. We had 100 volunteers who helped in many different ways to make this a successful week.

Fourteen children professed Jesus Christ as their Savior for the first time this week. We are so thankful that these children heard about what Jesus has to offer them and that they accepted the gift of forgiveness, grace, and eternal life in heaven. We also know that many, many more seeds were planted in the hearts of others.

During the week, the children brought in donations for Wildwood Ranch, a Christian camp for inner city children. They raised $1039, which is enough money to send 41 kids to camp for a week. The Detroit Free Press will be matching the donation; therefore, 82 children will be able to attend Wildwood Ranch!

We give all of the glory to God and praise him for a successful week.

Home Repairs

Our front steps have been falling apart since we moved in to our house several years ago. We finally decided to do something about it. I'm very pleased with the results. I spent so many nights worrying about this huge project, but everything turned out just fine and we should have pretty low maintenance on it which is always a big plus!

July Update

July has been a busy month at the Coddingtons! We went on vacation to North Carolina, enjoyed a visit from Aunt Lauren, and had a succesful VBS. We did leave some time to be silly though!











Hannah had a blast with Aunt Lauweeeen.

Lauren, thank you so much for coming to spend time with us! I couldn't have been so prepared for Vacation Bible School without you. Hannah misses you so much and still asks for you when she wakes up from naps or sees a picture of you. We hope to see you again soon!

Fourth of July in North Carolina

We packed our bags and headed to Blowing Rock, North Carolina, for the Fourth of July. Hannah had a lot of fun on the airplane and it was so fun to see the ordeal through her eyes. She loved everything from taking her shoes on and off for security to seeing the clouds up close and personal. She entertained the entire plane by standing up backwards on mommy's lap and shouting "Weeeeee!"






















Grandpa Pete and Grandma Margie were so excited to see Hannah again. It had been a looooong time!

















We took Hannah on a hike to Linville Falls on the second day of our vacation. She enjoyed accompanying daddy the whole way up and down the mountain.













Hannah also got to meet the two doggies, Daisy and Isaac. At first, she was a bit afraid of them but by the end of the week she would at least pet them when asked.













The week before we arrived, my mom found a kitten living underneath the rhododendron bush in her front yard. My mom named the kitty Rhoda and had been working on taming it for a few days. Hannah adored the little thing. There's always an animal adventure to be had with the Deibels! No wonder Hannah likes Dora the Explorer so much :)

Father's Day Visit from the Coddingtons

Calebs' parents and grandparents came to visit us all the way from Rochester, NY, over Father's Day weekend.













Hannah remembered JuJu and PaPa from books she has been reading. It was fun to see her reconnect with her grandparents that absolutely adore her. She got so much attention and loved every minute of it!








The men all went to a nearby park to fly a kite. I don't think they had much luck, but I am sure they had a lot of fun spending time together.







On Father's Day, we packed a picnic and celebrated together at Kensington Park. Hannah loved canoeing!

June Update

We've been spending a ton of time at the park lately. Hannah absolutely loves the bouncy toys and has no fear of the slides. She climbs right up to the top without any help and races the bigger kids to the bottom. It's hard to peel her away from the equipment when it's time to go home.
























We also celebrated Adeline's (Hannah's friend's) second birthday at Ashlyn's (another one of Hannah's friend's) house. The girls loved playing together. Their favorite activities of the morning were books, puzzles, and eating cupcakes.

Toledo Zoo

Hannahs' friends Jameson and Mason Kern invited us to the Toledo Zoo this month. It was so fun to see it through Hannahs' eyes. She loved seeing all of the animals that we have been learning from books (Well, everything except this gorilla statue!). Her favorite was the polar bear which she called "Woof."
