Family of Four!!

Wow! I still can't get used to the idea that we are officially a family of four!

It's even stranger sounding to say "the kids" instead of just "Hannah." But we LOVE it!!!

February Update

February has been a crazy month for us.  Timmy is just growing like a weed!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Unfortunately, I had a sore throat for about 2 weeks that turned into bronchitis and a touch of pneumonia.  I felt so crummy that Caleb had to take off 2 days of work to help me with the kids and we eventually called in the big guns....
GRANDMA!!!  Thankfully, grandma offered to come help out for a while!  We needed it desperately!  And I don't think she minded too much :)
Our church family has graciously brought over meal after meal for us.  It has been such a blessing!

This little guy has had some fussiness issues this month.  I took him in to see the pediatrician on the 22nd and we determined that he has reflux.  (He weighed in at 10 lbs 5 oz, by the way!) Hannah was definitely the spittiest baby that I have ever seen/met, but she never really seemed like she was in pain.  Timmy, on the other hand, isn't nearly as spitty as she was, but seems to be so uncomfortable after feedings.  He loves Mylicon drops but they only help so much.  So, he is now on a medication twice a day to help with his reflux.  Some days I think it's working miracles and other days he seems to be back to his fussiness.  I know that babies just have their good days and bad days so we'll give the medicine another week or so to consider if it's really working or not.  He seems to be doing better on it at least.
We're still working out our days and nights over here.  Timmy does great during the night, only waking for a feeding and then going right back to bed; however, he's still doing his longer sleeps (5-6 hours at a time) during the day and shorter sleeps (4 hours) at night.  There have been a few times when he has "topped off" at about midnight and slept until about 5 in the morning.  We're hoping that starts to happen more often.  :)

Overall, we're enjoying our little boy so much.  Couldn't imagine life without him!!!  He LOVES to snuggle and so does mommy!!

Big Sister Hannah!

It was love at first sight for Hannah!  She was immediately interested in her baby brother and seemed to understand right away that he is here to stay.

She loves to hold Timmy and is the expert at putting his binky in!

Our first outing as a family was to Red Robin to celebrate being a family of four.  We splurged on a sundae for Hannah and of course she got to choose a "big sister" balloon at the end of the meal.

Another thing Hannah loves to help with is turning on the swing as well as the lights and music on the swing.  She's a big helper!

We are looking forward to watching their relationship develop.  Hannah seems to be very nurturing already to her baby brother.  It is neat to see her already trying to teach him how to play with his toys.

JuJu and PaPa

JuJu and PaPa came to visit the weekend of January 27th. They loved meeting little Timmy. In fact, we everyone was so busy holding him and having fun with Hannah that we hardly took any pictures!
PaPa and Daddy crafted a castle just for Hannah out of our new washing machine boxes. Hannah got to decorate her princess castle all by herself and she enjoyed every minute of it. JuJu packs a "Mickey Mouse Bag" of presents for Hannah during our visits and Hannah gets to open one a day. She was so exited to open a gold treasure box and put it in her castle. It stores all of her precious heart stickers in case she feels like redecorating :)

Hannah wore PaPa out so he caught some ZZZZs with Timmy.

January Update

We brought Timmy home from the hospital on Saturday, January 15th.  Thankfully, my mom came from St.Louis to help us make all of the adjustments to being a family of four as well as helping with all of the household chores while I recovered from the c-section.

Timmy got his first bath a few days after being home and he did NOT like it one bit.  We quickly learned that this kid does not like to have his clothes off!  He loves to be all warmy dormy all the time.
He is already growing so fast! He had a 2 week checkup on the 27th and weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz (33rd%ile).  He also measured 20.3 inches in length (33rd %ile) with a head circumference of 14.5 (42nd %ile).  He's a big boy, but not quite as big as Hannah was.  It's been fun to use the newborn size this time around.

Hannah's been finding ways to entertain herself while mommy has to do things like change diapers and feed baby Timmy.
And we all need a little humor these days!

Meeting Baby Timmy

Before Timmy was even born, he was one loved and prayed for little baby.  He had soooo many visitors that couldn't wait to finally meet him and hold him in their arms.  First to arrive was Grandma Deibel.  She couldn't help but remark how MUCH he looked like Hannah when she was a baby!

It was so fun watching Hannah meet her little brother, too.  She fell in love instantly!

Our next visitor was our friend Meredith Conrow.  She definitely needed a baby fix :)

We welcomed Melissa Kern to the hospital, too, to get some advice on raising boys--she has three!

And here's our precious baby all ready to come home from the hospital.
The Houtmans came to visit. They also made us a delicious meal that was incredibly helpful!

Our beloved friends, the Botts, came as well to welcome little Timothy into the world.  They were also the ones who took such fabulous care of Hannah while I was delivering the little guy.

I love this picture of Monica!  She has lots of experience being a big sister to Luke and Gavin.  Hopefully she can train Hannah :)

Thanks for the lasagna, Kristin!  It was so thoughtful!

We've welcomed many other visitors, too.  The Pastor came with his wife, Marsha.  We were also blessed with the company of our deacons, the Theumes, and two of my unofficial mentors from church--Sue Harms and Donna Russell.  What a fun time we've had showing you off, baby Timmy!
